I bought this one just because it was MAXELL and i had to make 25$ in order to qualify for free shipping. But the moment i inserted it in my stereo i realized my mistake. It sounded terrible. The very same day i went to walmart and picked up philips adapter once again. You can try others as well but dont even think about this one....

Seven Star F-200 Watt Voltage Converter Transformer Step Down 220 volts Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great product for use in countries that uses 220 Volts. Particularly in the Philippines where I used it along with an 110 volt Multitap/Surge Protector. (Note: You can hook up multiple devices to this converter with a Multitap but make sure all the devices together does NOT exceed 200 Watts!)
I recommend this for Recharging Batteries, Laptops (Though many laptops already have built in Converters but you may want to invest in a Portable Surge Protector which is generally not 220 Volt Compatible), Playstation 1 & 2 (Never tried with PS3), and PSP.
The unit will get hot though so I also recommend you do not keep it plug in for over 24 hours just for safety reasons.
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT FOR HAIR DRYERS, PCs (Like it shows on the box), AND OTHER PRODUCTS PASS 200 WATTS!!

I do not notice any bad part of it, it works what it should be. It has hum noise some times, overall it is good. Daily use, it has been using for more than two month long, no problem.

However, If You Subscribed to the Traffic Alert, this adapter WILL NOT PICK UP the traffic alerts nor will you even get an icon on your nuvi. There is another fuse in the original adapter that came with your Garmin nuvi that supports the "traffic alert". If your nuvi is still under warranty, Garmin will send you out a repair kit that includes another tip at no charge. They can at their discretion void your warranty if you use another adapter that did not come with your original unit.
Please call 1-800-800-1020 (central time) 8am-7pm technical support. When the "automated person" comes on quickly press 2; then press 1 and you will be placed on hold for the next technician.
