(More customer reviews)The cable does work but the connector doesn't snap into the female end on the deck (Alpine CDA-8500), I have 2 of the same decks in each of my cars and so I bought 2 cables. Neither one plugged right into the deck, I had to use a ton of force to make them connect but once they went together I did what it was supposed to do which is transmit my music to the deck (which I have an actual Alpine cable that transmits but doesn't charge and I think the sound quality is way better, probably for using higher quality materials to make the cable) and charge the phone. So I gave it a couple stars.

Want to listen to your iPod through your car audio system? If you have an Alpine stereo with "Full Speed" controls, all it takes is this KCE-422i connection cable. There's no extra gear to install. With just one cable between your iPod and your stereo, you'll get super-fast data transfer and full playback control. Once connected Alpine's Full Speed controls allow you to manage just about every playback function right from the radio's faceplate. Quick Search makes it easy to find the music that you want, jump between artists, albums, and playlists at the push of a button. You can even scroll through songs using the rotary control knob. Album, artist, and song information from your iPod will show up on the radio's display, too.
