(More customer reviews)I bought this small inverter as a Gold Box deal to use when camping or on road trips. I've used it to charge my phone through the USB port, to plug in the AC adapter for my kids' Nintendo DS, and to charge the battery on my digital camera (through the AC charger).
The good: It works. It's small, has a nice feel to it, and has a long enough 12v cord to allow it to be placed on the center console of my truck.
The bad: It gets very warm sometimes, almost to the point of being uncomfortable to touch. I haven't determined if it only gets hot on the current draw for the AC, or only from the USB, or both. Sometimes it seems to run hotter, and other times it doesn't.
I would have given it 5 stars except it makes me a little nervous that it gets so warm. Otherwise, it's a nice little device to keep around, and was actually cheaper than a 12v charger for my phone. I always unplug it when not in use.
2/22/2011 Update! This inverter still works well, but I have determined that it is the USB charging that causes it to get very hot.
